Life really isn't fair. You've just pushed a human being out and now your midwife is telling you to get ready for the afterbirth. That's right, you need to give birth to the placenta which although is an amazing thing providing your baby with its life source, it's never going to be pleasant. Your midwife will probably then inspect it thoroughly in front of you and ask you if you want to take it home. You know, to eat it.
