Death: 20 December 2009 Brittany Murphy was a gorgeous and critically acclaimed American actress who spent the last years of her life happily married to British screenwriter, Simon Monjack. Whilst there were rumours of Murphy having a drug addiction at the beginning of the millennium, she denied it despite her dramatic weight loss. Murphy died just before Christmas in 2009 due to pneumonia which was stated as the primary cause of death. She also had an iron deficiency and multiple drug intoxication; although all drugs were legal, it was reported as an accident, not an overdose. Brittany Murphy was one of those women who were completely adorable to watch on and off screen and she was really coming on as an actress before her death so you feel like she had a lot more to give, especially after her performance in 8 Mile.
