1. Star Wars Hotel
Possibly the most exciting news was the announcement of a Star Wars inspired hotel at Walt Disney World.
Disney are referring to this new hotel as a luxury "360 vacation concept". Just like Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, this new hotel will completely immerse you into the world of Star Wars. You will be a passenger on a starship and again the choices and decisions you make will follow you around during your multi-day stay.
Bob Chapek, Chairman of Walt Disney Parks & Resorts went into detail on the Disney Parks Blog about what you can expect to experience when you choose to stay at this new resort:
You’ll immediately become a citizen of the galaxy and experience all that entails, including dressing up in the proper attire. Once you leave Earth, you will discover a starship alive with characters, stories, and adventures that unfold all around you.It is 100% immersive, and the story will touch every single minute of your day, and it will culminate in a unique journey for every person who visits...
According to Chapek, every window will have a view into space. Disney has done magic windows in the past, most famously on their cruise ships. This appears to be bigger than anything done before.
Disney didn't announce where exactly in Walt Disney World the hotel would be built. Rumours have already began to circulate that the hotel will be next to the new land at Hollywood Studios so that guests can enter Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge from the hotel.
There's no news as to when it will open but speculation is that this could have the most expensive room rate of any Disney Resort.
