12. But His First Commercial Restaurant Was At a Petrol Station Across The Road
In 1934, four years after Sanders had started serving food to travellers from his own kitchen table, he bought the larger petrol station across the other side of the road and began serving to the six tables he could fit in there. By 1937 Sanders' restaurant had proved so popular that he expanded it to 132 seats, bought a motel on the other side of the road, and renamed the whole place "Sanders Court & Cafe".
