18 Problems All WHSmith Employees Will Understand

10. Alphabetizing The Books Takes Forever

While putting all the new books out is quite a nice job, the enthusiasm you feel when you're moved from the tills to the book shelves wears off quicker than you might think. Lugging boxes and boxes of books over to each shelf and finding the right author and the right letter takes longer than you might think, especially when you're constantly interrupted by customers with weird requests like "Please can you tell me where the erotic fiction section is?" and "Where might I find an iPod case with a bear on for my son's new iPod?" Some days, it's takes you from nine till five just to get the Hunger Games books all out and in order and straight. God give you strength to get through the next day where you'll be putting out the new cover editions of every Jodi Picoult book ever written.

I love Stephen King and music festivals; I eat my toast upside down; I daydream about getting married probably a bit too much; and I wish every day for a pet sausage dog puppy (who never materialises – sob).
