11. New Best Seller Release Day Is Every Workers Worst Nightmare
Can you even imagine what WHSmith is going to be like when George R R Martin FINALLY releases the new Game of Thrones novel? MAYHEM, THAT'S WHAT. There will be people queuing up outside the doors of Smiths, hours in advance to opening time. There will be people pushing and shoving in order to get to the new book. There will be people tripping over pushchairs and buggies and small children and nice elderly customers. The self check out machines will be rammed full, and will most likely break down when there's no spare member of staff around to save them. The books will run out and people will start complaining and threatening to call the police. There will be riot vans and stabbings and murders and - Ok, so it won't be THAT bad. But it will be BAD. Just like every other new best seller release day. Have your pain killers at the reader.
I love Stephen King and music festivals; I eat my toast upside down; I daydream about getting married probably a bit too much; and I wish every day for a pet sausage dog puppy (who never materialises – sob).
