18 Problems Only Over-Thinkers Will Understand

4. Jealousy Of Self-Assured People

jealous jealousy community alison brie They're the people who move through life with the most solid of confidence, the most unflappable of airs, and the air of someone who doesn't give a damn in the best way possible. These people, these incredibly self-assured, self-possessed people, are the envy of over-thinkers, people who by nature spend too much of their time inside their own heads, questioning and catastrophising. Over-thinkers can't help but go green with jealousy over how... well... easy these confident people make it look. You can spend hours wondering just how they do it, how people can go about life seemingly unprepared for anything and everything that the world can throw at them. Don't they realise that going without an umbrella or without a full report could spell disaster? These people seem to be capable of 'winging' a situation, and not panicking about it. So, yes, over-thinkers get considerably more jealous when they see how life is seemingly easier for the non-over-thinker. It's not easy being green...

3. Worrying About When You Treat Yourself

Worry, worry, worry. The correlation between over-thinking and worrying and guilt is so strong that it can be genuinely horrible and life-affecting at times. However, one of the worst cases of guilt and worrying is when an over-thinker becomes guilty when they treat themselves to something nice. It's certainly not a crime, and it's pretty much been conclusively proven to be good for your mental health, but trying to assuage the guilt from a splurge or a treat. Over-thinkers begin to consider their treat too deeply and worry about it. They worry about what people will think of them should they learn that they treated themselves to an ice cream cone or a massage or a movie or to something as simple as a nap. They find it hard to consider that other people will not negatively judge and criticise them or their actions, particularly ones that don't have any other motivation than being self-restoring and pleasurable. Over-Thinkers, just enjoy yourself. Believe me, no one cares.
