12. Getting In A Political e-Slap Fight With People You Dont Know
When it comes to politics, the left and the right have been arguing over various items for decades and decades. Thanks to social media, the volume and stupidity of stories for and against the President have exploded. Some of them are down right despicable. There are many reasons why people think this is so, and some people blame social media. While that remains to be seen after a couple more Presidents hold office, but Facebook gives people a medium to discuss, argue, and complain about politics that didn't exist before. It's actually quite entertaining watching your friends make fools of themselves trying to out-fact the other person, but it also can lead to turning people off from politics due to the ridiculousness.
11. Showing Your Humor Style Via Memes
What do a frowning cat, Captain Jean Luc Picard, Willy Wonka, Fry from Futurama, and a drunk baby with a 32 oz. glass of beer next to him all have in common? They are all famous in 2014 thanks to one of the largest internet sensations, the meme. It's quick hitting comedy, and unlike the Harlem Shake, it's been around for longer than 15 minutes of fame. It's a way for people to show their sense of humor on almost anything with a pop culture icon, text on top, and text on the bottom. Just make sure to use the right font, or it'll just look stupid. Without the internet, memes would not be possible. Before Facebook, we didn't have a place to share them with everyone.
