Misery loves company, right? Well, when it comes to being unemployed, it can be a real struggle to find anyone who's actually free at a sensible hour to help you lick your wounds and soothe your soul. Let's face it, most people are at work in regular nine-to-five hours, and therefore aren't usually free for a drink at 2pm when you're in the bar because their drinks are much cheaper during the daytime. Usually the only people that can join you are your fellow jobless friends and compadres, but even that isn't as much fun, because once you've rattled through what everyone is doing now, you're left without the kind of mutual bonding, stories, and experiences, that come from actually working in a real job or career. As a result, everyone usually gets a little bit too drunk on the cheapest spirits available, and head home just as the work bell strikes, and everyone else descends to have a relaxing pint or two after work. Marvellous.
