20 Absolute Worst Things About Being Unemployed

18. Dealing With Worry From Parents

Your parents are probably wonderful people who only want to see nice things happen to you, and for you to create a life for yourself that is fulfilling and fantastic. Sure, they might grimace when you unveil your tattoo, cringe when photographs of that one holiday in Kavos come to light, and even argue with you over which area is best to find somewhere to live, but they've always got your back. That's why when you find yourself out of work, it can be such a hard time for them, never mind you. They just want the best for you, but they keep asking you about jobs at every opportunity, keep adding more pressure whether or not they know it or not, and generally have an air of loving disappointment. They want what's best for you, and it kind of makes your heart hurt knowing that they're worrying about you, even though you're a fully-fledged (or at least semi-fledged) adult. As a result, you make sure to make your recent job attempts seem more successful and epic, just to make them rest as ease, even though you feel like a dirty liar for doing so.
