Some of us are blessed with living in the countryside, where wildlife is nothing more than a hop, skip and a jump away. Some others are located near a zoo, so if you fancy going and seeing some animals in their not-so-natural habitat it's just a few minutes down the road. The rest of us don't live our lives like a safari, however, and so we get our peeks at animals where we can get it. Like the Kigosi Game Reserve in Tanzania (that's 4.172149, 31.234646) which let us see a herd of buffalo stampeding along. Or you could try the same country's Katavi National Park (6.535300, 31.111540) which does a good line in hippos going for a swim whilst you look at the shadow of the plane passing over head and wonder who the heck Google Earth works if it's getting photos from so high up it can manage to catch the plane's shadow but not the plane itself, what is up with that? Shush, it's fine, look at the nice animals, and start thinking of ways to look at the monkeys in Twycross Zoo without having to actually pay the entry fee.
