16. Aydinli Cave House Hotel - Göreme, Turkey
Located in the heart of historical Göreme, the Aydinli Cave House Hotel has been standing for hundreds of years. It uses the old technique common in this area of etching out a building that contains existing cave structures, therefore several of the hotel rooms consist of caves that have been modified only slightly since they were built ages ago. Aydinli Cave House Hotel somehow manages to combine that raw ancient element of the caves with striking beauty in the architecture and all the amenities one might expect from a modern hotel. While you're here, you can look around and totally imagine what it would have been like to live in this beautiful city five hundred years earlier.
