20 Jaw-Droppingly Weird Laws That Still Exist In America

11. Texas - You Cannot Sell Your Eyeballs

Law's Origin: 1985

Risk of Prosecution: Up to one year in jail, a $4000 fine, and loss of an eye

Another common sense law I can get behind. Even Texas, the wild crazy land of independence, cowboys, and petitions to secede the Union, realizes that citizens should not be selling their eyes to private sellers. This isn't the Minority Report.

In fact, the full text of the law outlaws the selling of any organs, and a quick glance into the horror stories along the Mexican border of people being kidnapped for organ harvest is a good enough explanation for any reasonable person.

However, this crime is only classified as a misdemeanor so if you're ever down on your luck in Texas just remember: God gave you two of a lot of things.

Our Rating: Just kidding. Selling your body is wrong.
