20 Joe Rogan Experience Episodes You Must Listen From 2020

9. Matthew McConaughey - Episode #1552

We all know Matthew McConaughey for his stellar acting career on film and TV. From playing disturbed police officer, Rusty Cohle, on True Dectective to widowed NASA Pilot, Cooper, in Interstellar, we've seen him in plenty over the years.

He can also add published writer to his name now, following the released of his first book, Greenlights, which he was on the JRE to promote. While it could've easily turned into a full-blown advert for his memoir, it was actually a very memorable appearance from the 51-year old.

There's plenty of discussiong regarding the book, which is full of ancedotes from journals he began writing since he was 14 until recently. However, the epsiode really began to pick up steam when they began talking about his acting roles.

One of his most impressive performances - and the role that got him the Academy Award - was as Ron Woodruff in the Dallas Buyer's Club. McConaughey had to lose an insane amount of weight to portray the role of man diagnosed with AIDs. Listening to him and Rogan discuss the struggle it took to lose that amount of weight for the role will leave you completely shocked at his dedication.
