Nowadays "Apple Inc" may be synonymous with almost every aspect of the electronics industry, but until the mid-2000s the company was mainly just renowned for its computers. For that reason it was not until 2007, following the release of the iPhone and six years after the introduction of the iPod, that the company dropped the "Computer" from its name to become "Apple Inc" instead of "Apple Computer, Inc".
