11. The Lack Of Decent Nightclubs

Derby residents over a certain age are bound to have noticed one change for the worse over the years - that's if they still venture into town on a weekend for a night out. What was once a vibrant city with decent nightclubs for all tastes has now become a decent club-free zone. The 90s saw Derby as one of the hottest spots in the country for dance music, particularly with the Progress events which ran for years, while the Rock House played host to some truly great bands. Unfortunately, Derby's nightclub star appears to have waned in recent years with seemingly no great clubs remaining - fortunately the outrageous selection of ales and plenty of decent pubs makes up for it. At least, for those Derbeians over a certain age...
