In order to buy his son a present for his college graduation, Pennsylvania resident Brian Keene let his automobile insurance slide and 20 days later was explaining himself to the police, who subsequently suspended his licence for 90 days.

An award-winning author, Keene is as far removed from the stereotypical creditor dodging deadbeat as it is possible to get. He won a Stoker Award for his first novel and in 2014 received the Grand Master Award at the World Horror Convention, so if a person of his stature struggles with bills then spare a thought for those living on the minimum wage.
