2. Isla de las Munecas - Mexico
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s7ZFitGGCIo As if Monaco's Doll Museum wasn't bad enough for you doll-haters, there is even a Mexican island dedicated to the toys, with a very sad background. Isla de las Munecas (The Island of Dolls) is situated just south of Mexico city. Although the island was certainly never intended as a tourist destination it pulls in many curious visitors every year. It is believed that many years ago, a girl drowned on the island and was found by the caretaker of the island, Julian Santana Barrera. Shortly after finding the girl, Julian noticed a doll in the water and hung it to a tree as a sign of respect to the girl. But soon, Julian claimed that he was being haunted by the girl and so he hung more dolls to the trees in order to appease her, then before long there were dolls all over the island. Many years later, Julian was also found drowned, in the same spot that he found the girl. With no one to ask for information, there is no way we will know just how true Julian's story was or if there was ever a drowned girl in the first place but Isla de las Munecas is certainly one of the most bizarre places on earth.
