Next time you go to 'cross the t's and dot the i's' (or vice versa, depending on how one says the phrase), remember that the little mark above that 'i' is in fact called a tittle. This is obviously also true of a lower-case 'j', and now minds will be racing about all the jokey implications they can make about words beginning with both letters that also happen to be rife with innuendo.

Who could have imagined that the tiny mark would even have a name? It actually comes from the Greek word 'Iota', which also happens to be the smallest letter in that alphabet. It could also represent 'Yodh', which is the smallest letter of the Hebrew and Aramaic alphabets.
