Oh, stage parents. You know the ones: those mums who drag their kids to rehearsals multiple days a week from the age of two and up, those who have their nose in absolutely everyone's business, and those who try their hardest to manipulate studio directors into doing what they deem "best." They might think their doing their kids a favor by being so involved in their dance life, but it can very quickly become a highly obnoxious and embarrassing situation for the mum, kid, and, really, everyone. Can't live with them and - well, you could probably live without them.
4. Directors Having Favourites... That Aren't You
Yet another unfair aspect of the dance world: every director has those stars. Y'know, the ones that are somehow always at the front of the stage, the ones who are always the examples, the ones with the best solos, and so on. The directors might think they're being clever and hiding their favoritism but every single member of the company will catch on - who could ignore being stuck in the back for every show? - and it can very easily turn into major drama. And c'mon: drama is for the theatre kids.
