On July 7, 1930, Conan Doyle collapsed clutching his chest in the hall of his Windlesham Manor in East Sussex. Holding a flower in one hand, he turned to his second wife, Jean, and uttered his final words before dying. They were: "You are wonderful." It seems Conan Doyle was quite the romantic.
