7. You Can Visit "Conan Doyle Place"... In Switzerland

The Final Problem, in which Sherlock Holmes is "killed off", was partially set in the Swiss town of Meiringen. To commemorate the mention of the town in the novel, one of its squares was renamed "Conan Doyle Place" in 1988.
