22 Problems Only People From Gateshead Will Understand

4. Low Fell - The "Jesmond Of Gateshead"

Eslington Villa is pretty much the crowning gem on Low Fell, the former mining village that residents like to think is the poshest part of the Borough (which Whickham residents would strongly disagree with no doubt). NE9 post-codes are seen as the be-all and end-all for anyone lucky enough to be born on or around the Fell, and while the night-life is now a shadow of its former self and the traffic situation is a bloody nightmare, it's still a matter of pride. So much so in fact that people flat-out lie about living there. Allerdene is not Low Fell, and Wrekenton is definitely not "Upper Low Fell."
