There's more and more countries decriminalising marijuana possession; with Santa Fe City Council in New Mexico the most recent to force a public vote on the matter. If it goes ahead, it would make the possession of an ounce or less of marijuana a civil infraction punishment of a fine no more than $25. Not ideal, but better than nothing.
