21. Explaining Who The Electrical Wizard Actually Was
How can you go wrong with a Wetherspoons? Well you can by giving it a ridiculous name that no one knows the meaning of. The Electrical Wizard opened its doors on March 15, 2011 as the town of Morpeth rejoiced. Since then, the question of who the wizard actually was has dominated countless conversations that have taken place within the mighty ale house's four walls. To put the story of this glorified electrician beyond any doubt, this following has been lifted straight from Spoons' website:
"This former cinema first opened its door for a gala performance in December 1926. It was designed by C.Franklin Murphy and is now named after Dr Walford Bodie, the Electrical Wizard who entertained packed audiences in these premises in the cinema's early years. Bodie was famous for his 'shocking' magic tricks using electricity. These premises were refurbished by JD Wetherspoon in March 2011."
Bet you can't wait to show this information off to your friends.
