26 Marvellously British Problems That Make Life Awkward For Us All
12. Leave The Windows Alone!
It's inexplicable really. Why would a vehicle that has ample space for many people, each with their own individual body temperature/comfortable environments, and allow any member of the public to have control over the windows? There's always some prat on the bus who insists on opening and/or shutting all the windows, completely ignoring the comfort levels of everyone else on board. If you're the person who does this, just know that every single person on the bus is silently calling you very nasty things in their heads.
11. Insisting Starburst Are Still Called Opal Fruits
The nostalgia is strong with the British public. Those who were alive in the 80's will fondly remember that StarBurst, those little wonderful sweets (of which the red one is the best, naturally) were originally called Opal Fruits. These people will also constantly call them Opal Fruits even though they've been called StarBurst forever now and confuse everyone whenever they talk about them.
10. Moaning About There Being Nothing On The Telly...Then Watching The Dross That's On
So there's absolutely nowt whatsoever on the googlebox. At this point you could go outside and do something productive, but instead you sink further down into your armchair, tune over to your secret favourite antiques programme and settle down for a good hour. Also the daily choice between watching The Chase or Pointless is utterly excruciating.
9. Death By Weather
No matter what the weather is, the British news will cling to it like a limpet and spin it into a way it can kill us. If it's absolutely glorious outside they'll say that we're all going to burst into flames, and if it snows, even a little bit, it's like the end of life as we know it. Even though it snows absolutely every year and we cope with it every single year. Go figure.
