It remains to be seen whether Batman v Superman will end up being the best superhero movie of 2016, but it's certainly the most tantalising, serving up pure wish fulfillment as DC's most iconic superheroes go face to face...for half the movie at least. Yes, many are worried that Warner Bros' aggressive marketing campaign has given too much away already, but Zack Snyder has promised that there's plenty left to surprise you. All eyes will be on Ben Affleck as he attempts to redeem himself for 2003's Daredevil movie, while the controversial casting of Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor could make or break the film. It's almost certainly not going to please everyone, but what's been shown off so far looks terrific, and with Oscar-winning Argo writer Chris Terrio penning the script, there's hope that this could be Snyder's smartest and best film to date.
