Barrack Obama (born 1961) has been the 44th President of the United States since 2009. John Tyler (1790-1862) was the 10th President of the United States from 1841-1845. In 1853, the wife of 63-year-old Tyler gave birth to his son, Lyon Gardiner Tyler who in turn, fathered two sons with wife Sue in 1924 and 1928 respectively. As of 2013, both those sons were reportedly still alive. The fact that two grandsons of a man born 224 years ago and who became President of the United States of America 173 years ago are still alive bestows upon President John Tyler the variously dubious and auspicious title of Oldest Former President with Living Grandchildren. The fact that there are two men alive in the world today whose father was born in 1853 and whose grandfather was born in 1790, is just weird.
