5 Classic Christmas Traditions That Are Completely Over-Rated

1. Santa Claus

St Nick, Santa Claus, Father Christmas... the Christmas scourge takes many different names, however it has one focused goal of bringing joy to the richer countries of the earth. One of the most overrated things about Christmas is Santa Claus, primarily for the reason that he isn't real (sorry, kids) and is a product of adult deception to make Christmas more interesting. Father Christmas - a fat old man who lives by himself in the middle of nowhere with slaves who make things for him - is the embodiment of everything that is wrong with Christmas. Despite being portrayed as a saint, he is pure evil and not only does the deception lead to inevitable distress, this imaginary man also gets to take all of the glory that your hard-earned cash actually paid for. But there's nothing we can do about it. Being imaginary - frustratingly, it is impossibly to kill Santa Claus, even if he does effectively break into your house every year (for which we thank him.) Thank God for alcohol. To all a very merry Christmas. Or at least a drunk one.
