The 5 Types Of People Completely Ruining Your Facebook Newsfeed

3. The Attention-Seekers

Andy Bernard The Office No prizes for guessing what this particular group of people do to irritate the masses on Facebook. The attention-seekers mostly post negative statuses which will always get a comment from somebody either offering an empty message of support, or asking what the problem is. These people love to have a fuss made over them, and will often revert from the lengthy and annoying statuses nobody wants to read, to a simple 'fed up'. When asked what the cryptic status was about, often the aforementioned will reply 'can't say on here.' The same question always pops up in most peoples minds €“ why post a status if you're not going to talk about it? Why indeed.... This stretches to the statuses moaning about a loved one, where despite posting an essay of critique about their other half, they still announce how they 'love them' but have no problem slating them on Facebook to strangers of course. People who have had a falling out with a partner love to vent their anger on Facebook to get attention, and vice-versa when they have just met somebody. Statuses like 'Can't wait to meet that special somebody ;-)' are rife with some users. But the best attention-seeking statuses have to be the ones solely posted for 'likes' and to boost their own self-esteem. For example, pictures of somebody who used to be heavily overweight and ones with them with all the weight having been lost. While this is well and nice, it's being posted for positive attention and nothing else €“ it's blatantly obvious. This also follows on from people who are in denial about their weight and choose to post themselves half-naked with an 'and they call me fat' caption. Of course the friends all 'like' the picture and compliment regardless. It's all, quite frankly, pathetic.
