2. The Memes
Memes are becoming a virus on Facebook and every other social networking site that lets you comment with photos. They're usually a picture of a character or animal with a joke caption at the bottom of the meme, and while it sounds initially harmless, people are now using these far too frequently and are also using them instead of just saying what they feel. The issue this causes means people with no natural sense of humour are now littering your Facebook newsfeed with their non-organic garbage many others will be posting throughout the day. Memes are primarily used sarcastically, and of course sarcasm is viewed as a witty riposte to conventional joking, which means people view themselves as funny by posting memes as way of getting their point across. The worst memes range from a picture of Vladimir Putin pointing, with 'give this man a cookie' written below. A picture of Sean Bean with 'one does not simply...' and the ending changes depending on what the topic was. But the worst meme of all currently doing the rounds are the variations of 'I don't give a f***'. This has been adapted to 'No f***s given, 'One does not simply give a f***' etc. Unfortunately these memes appear on nearly every comments section, and are simply the most annoying things to have to trawl through to read normal comments. Why can't people be themselves and post their own jokes? Are they that boring and have nothing original to say themselves they must resort to unfunny pictures that have been posted a million times before?
