What better way of gaining power than promising to bring Germany back to it's old greatness? The fact that Hitler managed to gain so much ground so quickly paid testament to how dedicated the German Army was to advancing the goals of a new and invigorated Germany. Treaty of Versaille be damned - picking fault and totally ignoring rules imposed on you post World War I will certain give you a few "likes" on the old Nazi Facebook page (if Facebook existed back then). Granted doing this was a bit of a cheap way of gaining power, it was a case of right time right place - if any other party had done the same thing they probably would have had just as much power. It is also, as mentioned previously, a good way of getting those employment numbers hitting an all time high by making everyone make bombs, bullets, and fighter planes. The wave of positivity that swept the country after the Blitzkrieg toppled country after country eventually put the power icing on top of Hitler's supremacy Victoria Sponge. The eventual loss didn't even make people turn against him - just look at 2012 and the Greek political party Golden Dawn, Facist values won't be dying a death anytime soon. Like this article?
