When it comes to the idea that we may be living in some sort of computer simulation, it's more than just folks on the fringe and internet weirdos who believe. In fact, one of the greatest minds of our time, Elon Musk, is on board with the theory.

The Tesla creator has said that, "There's a one in billions chance we're in base reality."

As Musk explains, "The strongest argument for us probably being in a simulation is the following: 40 years ago, we had Pong, two rectangles, and a dot. That is what games were. Now 40 years later we have photorealistic 3D simulations with millions of people playing simultaneously and it's getting better every year. And soon we'll have virtual reality, augmented reality, if you assume any rate of improvement at all, the games will become indistinguishable from reality."

The SpaceX CEO certainly has a point. It's not hard to imagine games that are indistinguishable from what we perceive to be a reality, being released in the near future. As eerie as it seems, he may already be taking part in one.
