In 1981, John Douglas White was sentenced to probation for strangling and stabbing a 17-year-old girl. In 1995, he was sentenced to 12 years in prison for killing a 26-year-old woman. In 2009, he became the pastor of a 14-member congregation at Christ Community Fellowship in Broomfield Township, Michigan.
He was engaged to the mother of 24-year-old Rebekah Gay, herself the mother of a 3-year-old boy. After a few years in which his past seemed to really be behind him, the 55-year-old murdered Rebekah in her trailer by repeatedly hitting her, and then strangling her with a zipper. Following the murder, the pastor started asking the people of his congregation to pray for the missing Rebekah, before cops started focusing on him as the main suspect.
He soon confessed to everything, leading the investigators to the body. He later admitted to doing it all in order to gratify his sexual desire of having sex with a corpse. He was tried and found guilty. He hanged himself in his prison cell a year later.
