7 Shocking Things You Didn't Know About Working At Amazon

4. Some Employees Are Expected To Walk 11 Miles In A Single Shift

Amazon Warehouse 3 When was the last time you walked 11 miles? As in, seriously: for a charity gig or something, right? Unless your job happens to be "professional walker," then, the idea of walking 11 miles at work during each and every shift is a fairly daunting one - and one that would undoubtably take a toll on any human being who hadn't managed to swap out their original legs for new, upgraded bionic equivalents (as far as we're aware, this process doesn't exist). Still, 11 mile shifts are supposedly asked of Amazon's warehouse workers on a frequent basis according to - yep - undercover reporter Adam Littler. "I just short of eleven miles last night," he said at one point during his time at the company, before adding: "I'm absolutely shattered. My feet are the thing that are bothering me the most to be honest." Just imagine having to head back into work the very next day to repeat the process.
