7 Things iPhone 6s Improves On The iPhone 6

7. The iPhone 6s Features 3D Touch

One of the most widely rumoured and eagerly anticipated features of the iPhone 6s was its Force Touch capability (now relabelled to 3D Touch). A technology taken from the Apple Watch, 3D Touch adds pressure-sensitivity to the iPhone 6s. This means that the 6s can distinguish between hard taps and soft taps. So for example, if you're going through your email inbox in iOS 9, then pressing harder on the display will turn the inbox screen translucent and a popup box will appear over it that you can write into. When Craig Federighi demonstrated 3D touch, he used the feature to carry out plenty of phone commands directly from the home screen, such as making calls, and viewing message contents and map directions. If you hard-press the homescreen camera app icon, for instance, a series of camera options - Take Selfie, Record Video etc. - will appear in a list on the homescreen, so you just need to drag your finger up the list to go straight to a given option. IPhone gamers will be pleased to hear that it'll be possible for developers to integrate pressure-sensitivity into iOS games, opening up plenty of possibilities for mobile gaming.
