There are plenty of stupid people on this list, but no-one compares to John Balmer which is why he's at number. In fact, if there was an award for dumbest individual in the state of Florida, he'd be a safe bet to be proclaimed the winner.

So what did Balmer do to get him to the top of this particular list? Well, while standing in line at a Kmart in Hudson, Florida, he began to panic when a police sheriff walked into the store. Mistake number one.

Clearly alarmed by the deputy, Balmer tried to get rid of a bag containing drugs in it, by attempting to pass it to the person behind him. Of course, the person behind him was also aware of the deputy in the store and refused his gesture. So that he wasn't found with the bag, he left it on the floor, paid for his items and attempted to leave before being arrested. Mistake number two.

Mistake number three, and the most ironic of the three, is that Balmer was wearing a t-shirt that said, “Who needs drugs. No, seriously, I have drugs." during the time of the arrest. You can't just can't make this sort of stuff up.

Now we're all for promoting your business in new and creative ways. However, there's a time and place and judging by the charges filed against him - one count of possession of methamphetamine and another count of possession of marijuana - this wasn't the place to champion his line of work.
