8 Fascinating Disney Movies That Were Never Made
4. Fraidy Cat
Fraidy Cat was to tell the story of Oscar the cat and Corina, a cockatoo. Both pets live luxurious, pampered lives in a London apartment until one day a neighbourhood pet disappears and Oscar is indicted in the crime. After that, Fraidy Cat was to become both a satire and an homage of Alfred Hitchcock's film noires, an animal-fuelled detective fiction.
Despite production beginning in 2004 with a huge amount of concept art and a story reel being presented to executive David Stainton, the project was again scrapped for fear of it not being marketable enough to a general audience.
The main reason given was that the subject was too obscure, with kids having no concept of or interest in Alfred Hitchcock, and therefore they wouldn't care about a loving tribute to him.
