8 Harry Potter Characters JK Rowling Really Didn't Have To Kill

6. Lavender Brown

We€™re all guilty of wishing misfortune on that irritating old flame you just can€™t seem to shake, but it€™s hard to imagine any ex going through what Lavender Brown did, no matter how much she annoyed Ron. Pure-blood Lavender was an OG €“ Original Gryffindor, I mean €“ who arrived at Hogwarts the same year as Harry and the gang. A bubbly and likeable character, she always popped up when anything of note was happening at school, from second year duelling club to the formation of Dumbledore€™s Army in year 5. By the beginning of 6th year Lavender had developed her crush on Ron, a crush that she acted upon after the ginger Quidditch keeper played a blinder in front of the hoops €“ who wouldn€™t want to be a Hogwarts WAG? Unfortunately for her it just wasn€™t meant to be. Her Won-won was in love with Hermione Grainger, and so Lavender was quite literally thrown to the wolves. €œNO!€ shrieked Hermione, and with a deafening blast from her wand, Fenrir Greyback was thrown backward from the feebly stirring body of Lavender Brown. Man, what a way to go, savaged by a werewolf Death Eater. Lavender died from her injuries, the only saving grace being that she was spared a life as a disfigured moon howler.
