7. Hermione's Father Was Going To Be Important

We know very little about Hermione's parents outside the fact that they're Muggles. We know that they're both dentists who achieved a Licentiate in Dental Surgery and that Hermione cast a False Memory Charm on them in order to try and protect them from the Death Eaters.

Apparently, however, we were set to know a whole lot more, specifically about Mr Granger. The Potter family was originally going to be living on an island, with the Grangers living on the nearby shore.

When Voldemort came to murder the Potters, Mr Granger was going to see the distant, spell-casting commotion and hop in a boat to do some investigating. In essence, Hermione's father was to take over the role of Hagrid, as he would be the one to discover Harry as a baby. What this might have lead to we can only speculate, but it's unlikely that the man responsible for saving Harry Potter would have been left as a bit character.
