4. Chocolate Helps You De-Stress

As if we needed any other excuse to guzzle the stuff.

In a small study on healthy adults, researchers found that eating an average-sized bar of dark chocolate each day for two weeks was linked with a reduction in levels of the stress hormone cortisol in people who were already stressed and anxious.

Now, this might be because there is some compound in the chocolate that is having a mediating effect on hormone levels, or it could just be that everything seem better when you're eating chocolate.
