8 Terrifying Unsolved Halloween Mysteries

3. The Killing Of Ronald And Elizabeth

This case involves the brutal slaying of 20-year old Smith College student Elizabeth Platsman and 39-year old photographer Ronald Sisman. During the late hours of Halloween, 1981 the couple was severely beaten and shot in the head in the head at close range. There were reports that Sisman had some involvement with narcotics and that was looked at as a motive but ultimately dismissed.

It was also believed that robbery may have been the motive as the apartment had been thoroughly ransacked by the assailant. As if things weren't dark enough, they got even darker when a prison inmate claimed that his cellmate had predicted the murder or Sisman and Platsman before it had taken place, and the apparently clairvoyant inmate was none other than the "Son of Sam" himself, David Berkowitz.

The serial killer stated that Ronald Sisman had footage of one of his murders that he was going to turn over to police in exchange for skirting a drug charge and that one of his followers was going to bring an end to him. However there was never any evidence to substantiate these claims, nor has there even been any proof of Berkowitz being a part of a cult or others being involved in his crimes.
