Ah, Anthony Weiner. The man who is a gift to anyone who believes in nominative determinism. The middle-aged rebuttal to every accusation that it's just Gen Y who get into sexting trouble. The formerly hugely popular member of congress who got himself into a spot of bother and then another and then another because he simply couldn't stop sending explicit messages and pictures of himself to women. This "can't stop, won't stop" attitude first came to light when he tweeted a picture of his penis at a 21 year old woman from his public Twitter account. Not DMed it. Tweeted it. Though he deleted the tweet in question incredibly quickly, screenshots already abounded and he gave several interviews in which he claimed he'd been hacked. However, after more pictures came to light he was forced to admit that, yes, he had engaged in photo-and-text-based affairs with a number of women over Twitter, Facebook, email and the phone. For a while in 2011 it felt like a new woman would emerge daily with photos and messages from Weiner, leading to his eventual resignation from congress. Stories continued to emerge after his resignation, including that the sexting was ongoing and he had started using the (terrible) pseudonym "Carlos Danger". One of the most amazing details is that Weiner's wedding (yes, of course he was married, they always are) was officiated by none other than the daddy of US political scandals himself, Bill Clinton. So the question must be begged- is it catching?
