M. Metacritic

For better or worse, Metacritic has become extremely important to the likes of games developers, who can be judged their Metacritic score, as can those involved in television, music, film and such, as the site aggregates reviews from both professionals and its own community to offer true insights into the quality of media offerings. Honourable mentions go to Milkround, a haven for university graduates, offering advice and career postings for both undergraduates and graduates as they attempt to make their first foray into real employment, and Moneysupermarket (as well as its indistinguishable rivals Comparethemarket, Confused and Gocompare), which allows its users to source the best deals available to them on things such as insurance.
N. Netflix

As a recent episode of South Park suggested in a satirical manner, the era of watching films on a disc is all but over, with the online streaming of video now available as a much more effective alternative. Chief amongst providers of such streaming is Netflix, allowing subscribers to watch unlimited films and television episodes for a moderate monthly fee. An honourable mention goes to NikeID, which allows its users to create customisable sportswear in a manner that surprisingly few other labels have tried to replicate.
