1. It Ends In The Overlook Hotel's Ashes
To defeat the evil group of traveling psychic vampires called the True Knot and their leader Rose the Hat, Dan Torrance leads the little girl Abra whose shine is especially bright and her father back to the one place he knows is alive with physic energy: The resting place of the Overlook Hotel. Up in the Colorado Mountains, the site has been changed by the owners to a new attraction named the Top of the World to replace its image of the Overlook trajedy. The resting place for the hotel is an open field where it burned down. At the end of book Dan prepares to leave that place of evil a second time and put the horrors of the past behind him for good. He stops to look back one last time at the field where the Overlook once stood... and sees a familiar figure watching him.
