Every Epic Rap Battles Of History Ranked
80. Thomas Jefferson Vs. Frederick Douglas
Rappers: Peter (Jefferson) and J.B. Smoove (Douglas).
This one was misjudged and then some.
Jefferson's first verse is just fine, but when Douglas brings up Jefferson's history of owning slaves, Jefferson just apologizes instead of arguing back and the episode devolves into the pair debating about slavery.
Basically, this is a blandly-written history lesson instead of a rap battle and what makes this even worse is that there was no need to drop the pair battling each other. Most of the other historical ERB episodes are very informative without abandoning the whole point of the show.
So, thanks to the thoroughly mediocre writing and there not really being a proper rap battle, this is another one of the all-time worst ERB episodes.
Best Line:
Jefferson: "I'm so down with revolutions I invented the swivel chair!"
