Every Stephen King Novel Ranked Worst To Best

41. The Running Man

Stephen King in It: Chapter Two
Penguin

Despite sporting an action-packed premise, The Running Man is another victim of forgettability. The story of a dystopian game show where contestants are hunted on live TV by an assassin, this Bachman effort is full of interesting ideas and some thrilling sequences, but when stacked-up against King's more accomplished works, it doesn't stand up too well.

It's the perfect book for when you're after a quick, exciting read, but don't expect anything too revolutionary.
