10 Things You Discover When You Date Someone With Dyspraxia
3. Illegible Christmas And Birthday Cards Mean The World
In the world where Facebook messages are rapidly taking the place of the traditional birthday or Christmas card, sending something handwritten is a dated if touching gesture. It's too easy to just press a button and let the internet do the leg work for you, it's so impersonal. That little bit extra effort shows the recipient that you care about them enough to spend more than a couple of seconds wishing them well. Everything that makes handwritten Christmas and Birthday cards special applies tenfold with someone with Dyspraxia. Dyspraxics often have very weak hand muscles, meaning that writing can be rather painful. The frustration this causes is only made worse by the fact that the writing probably isn't legible anyway. Why should they bother writing something they know no one will be able to read? Won't an email do? They'll find any excuse not to send a handwritten letter. What this means is that when the person you love does write you a card, you know that you mean the world to them.
