''F**king Villagers'' Vote On Name Change

Inhabitants of a village in Austria called 'F**king' are to vote this week to see if they should change the name of the place they call home.

Inhabitants of a village in Austria called 'F**king' are to vote this week to see if they should change the name of the place they call home.

With a name like that, the villagers have had to get used to being the subject of jokes and pranks.

In the past, people have stollen the village sign which forced residents to weld it to a steel post and install CCTV to keep an eye on it. At least 13 signs have been stolen and with each one costing £250, the thefts soon became a problem. Some folk have even been caught stripping off and had having sex under the sign.

But recently a new nuisance has befallen the people of 'F**king.' Prank phone calls where people phone up and ask ''Is that F**king?'' before hanging appear to be the straw that broke the camels back. Villages or ''F**kingers'' as they are known have decided that enough is enough and they have to change the name.

Mayor of F**king, Franz Meindl said;

''People are now willing to discuss changes to the spelling of the name. But first all Fuckingers have to agree on whether want to change it or not.€

Local businesses are not so keen to change the name. They have produced products such as 'F**king postcards' and 'F**king Beer' and are worried that the village will no longer be a tourist hotspot.

About 100 Fuckingers live in the village and each one will vote if the name should be changed to the less rude ''Fugging.''

F**king is not the only place with a very rude name. Below is a list of other towns that have a similar problem.

''Wan King'' in Hong Kong. ''Knob Lick'' in Missouri, USA. ''Pussy'' in France. ''Shit'' in Iran. ''Dicking'' in Germany ''Twatt'' in Scotland. "Shag Point" in New Zealand
