Harry Potter: 10 Book Moments Every Fan Wants In A TV Adaptation

9. The Card-Carrying Cupids – The Chamber Of Secrets

The Chamber of Secrets was adapted pretty thoroughly back in 2002, but there was one comedic moment that never made it to the big screen.

On Valentine’s Day, Professor Lockhart takes it upon himself to brighten up the castle in an attempt to wash away the gloomy memories of the Basilisk’s attacks. As well as decorating the castle with flowers and confetti, he also allows card-carrying cupids to roam around Hogwarts. These ‘cupids’ are actually just dwarves wearing gold wings and carrying harps, but they cause plenty of disruption by stopping students and delivering their Valentine’s cards.

One of the dwarves even catches up with Harry, kicks him in the shins, and then sings him a small poem written by Ginny.

Fans of the book would love to see this funny scenario brought to life. And with some effective prosthetics and makeup, Lockhart’s card-carrying cupids would be a great way to add a dash of humour to the dark premise of The Chamber of Secrets.
